Pastor Laurence (Larry) K. Gray serves as an Ordain Associate Minister of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Norcross, Georgia, where Dr. William L. Sheals is the Senior Pastor.
Minister Gray accepted Christ at the age of 16 in accordance with Romans 10:9-13. He accepted his call into the ministry in 1990 after a period of “caparious self-examination and quality communion”. He was licensed in 1992 at Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO under the guidance of Pastor Dr. George Ervin and was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 2001 at Hopewell under Dr. Sheals.
In addition to his duties as associate minister, Minister Gray serves as on-call Chaplain for Wages and Son Funeral Home, Gwinnett County Hospital System Peachtree Christian Hospice, North Fulton Regional Hospital, and Chaplain for the City of Duluth Police Department. His ministry involvement includes teaching in the Mission Ministry, M.I.T.(Minister's In Training), Adult Sunday School, and guest speaker at the City of Hope Bible Institute. He has served as a member of the Ministerial Executive Board, coordinator for Sunday Evening Worship Service, spiritual advisor for Christian Education, Dance Ministry and By His Stripes. He is also a participant in the Mentoring Program of the Parent Teacher Student Covenant Group and member of the Men of Faith Choir. At his previous church, Minister Gray served as Youth Pastor and was involved with the Men’s Discipleship Ministry and taught classes for the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Bible Study ministries.
Minister Gray is the founder of Crossbearer Christian Ministry (LKGRAYMINISTRIES.ORG) on the World Wide Web and also works with other ministries in the development and maintenance of Internet Evangelism through Christian websites.
Minister Gray was a student of Pastoring Studies in Divinity program at Carver Bible College(KCMO). He is a graduate of the City of Hope Bible Institute with a diploma in Biblical Studies. He and his wife Sabrina are parents of four children, Jennifer, Victoria, Joshua, Janae and grandson Isaiah.
